The Famines' latest release, a two-song seven-inch record, finds the band kicking down the garage door on Side A's "Free Love Is a Sales Technique," a blast from the past in equal parts spirit and sound—two minutes of catchy-as-hell crashes and booms that pave the way for Side B's "The First World War," a mean-as-hell counterpoint to the first side. The one-two punch picks up somewhere after the band's initial double-seven-inch release left off, thickening up the sound a little and widening the scope a bit more.
