Il Duo: Milking It

Starring: Ron Long, Clint Hagel and Gail Olmstead

Il Duo is classically trained irreverence, and in Milking It! Clint Hagel, Ron Long and pianist Gail Olmstead deliver a solid showcase of musical comedy that's equal parts talent and gleeful lampoonery. Be it a duet "from Cats," pulling audience members onstage to re-enact some Gilbert and Sullivan, or taking the piss out of the endless barrage of covers of Leonard Cohen's  "Hallelujah," they can wring some laughs out of the classical singer stylings, and although early on the straight man/funny man routine feels a little contrived, it warms as they get going. As far as straight up singing goes at the Fringe, this one blends some decent comedy in as well, too. A lively take on an often stuffy genre.
