Questioning the domestic constructs which trap us without exit, Gone is an intriguing look at the possible reasons behind one woman’s disappearance. What should be an emotionally charged, heart-wrenching tale of a mother and wife gone missing instead flatlines: long, awkward pauses between scenes and extensive stretches of empty stage time set a laborious pace which undermines the tension and desperation of a troubling situation. The script hints at a fascinatingly dark examination of the happy housewife phenomenon and has sincere potential to become a thrillingly intense and provocative piece of theatre.
