« Back to Edmonton Fringe Festival Reviews 2011
Company: Laff Riot Girls
Written by: Lee Ann Keple
Starring: Lee Ann Keple
Lee Ann Keple has arced from nervous Fringe volunteer (dayjob: banker), to member of the admin (goodbye, dayjob!) to, now, Fringe performer (dayjob?). Her story of what the Edmonton Fringe has meant to her over the years is a touching, funny little one-hander, full of anecdotes from the inside. Her delivery is low-key but inviting, her tale a curious, smile-inducing history of this grand, weird festival. Those who've been coming for decades will glean the most from it, but it's also a lovely introduction to the sense of community that's sprung up around these 10 days in August.
