Postvue Publishing is seeking an additional member for our editorial team. Postvue Publishing is an Edmonton based publishing company that produces multiple print and digital products. Our focus is to create and produce strong editorial products that are of interest to Edmontonians and Albertans.

The staff writer is responsible for producing a variety of editorial content for the various products we produce, which include, but are not limited to:

• Vue Weekly and;
• Hot Summer Guide and
• Cool Winter Guide;
• Bar & Restaurant Guides; and
• Others as required, including contract publishing products.

Our goal is to engage locals with content that will intrigue, inspire and captivate. In so doing, we hope to provide sufficient inspiration for our readership to respond favourably to our advertising partners.


• Responsible for contributing to the production of a variety of editorial content for all products in our portfolio, including contract publishing;
• Maintain the highest possible standard of editorial quality within the objectives of the company;
• Work with the production team to meet deadlines;
• Work with the associate publisher to strengthen and develop brand initiatives;
• Contribute to our social media presence in a manner that is consistent with brand strategy;
• Proof and edit content produced by colleagues and contributors;
• Work closely with the company’s digital team on strategy and execution of online and social media content;
• Maintain a reasonably strong visual and social presence within the community at large, acting as an ambassador for Postvue Publishing;
• Maintain reasonable and professional contact with the business community, both clients of Postvue Publishing and others, in an effort to foster deeper and more lasting relationships; and
• Maintain impeccable relationships with Postvue Publishing’s contract publishing clients.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a minimum of two years’ experience in the publishing industry;
• Possess a BA and/or a journalism degree;
• Have excellent research, writing and editing skills and the ability to detect and correct any spelling and grammatical errors;
• Be detail oriented and meticulous;
• Produce accurate and impeccable copy that rarely requires rewrites or corrections;
• Possess a strong grasp of social trends and consumer behaviour;
• Have a strong knowledge and network of contacts in the arts and music community;
• Have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
• Have a thorough understanding of the production process;
• Be active in a number of social media channels with Edmonton residents, including Twitter and Facebook; and
• Be fully functional with MS Word, Excel, and InDesign.
