Beaver County

Situated between Tofield and Ryley, just 12 km south of Highway 14 on Range Road 182, lies Black Nugget Lake Campground, a quiet rural recreation area known for bird watching and trout fishing.

Developed out of a former coal mine, the Campground boasts 66 sites (full-serviced and non-serviced), group areas, and back-to-nature tenting sites. While at Black Nugget Lake you can enjoy birdwatching, boating, canoeing, trout fishing and horseshoe pits. A concession building and shower facilities are also located on site. The day use area includes a large playing field, cookhouse and playground equipment.

With demonstrations, clinics, cycling vendors on-site, and opportunities to try out gear and new bikes, there’s something for everyone - no matter what your Skill level is. The Vegreville Municipal Campground is located on highway 16A, at the East end of Town at the Elks/Kinsmen Park. Our camping season runs from May 1 through September 1.
