When you get compared, in the same breath, to everything from Daniel Johnston to the Talking Heads, you know you have a sound that's hard to pin down. After the recording of their 2007 EP Whale Headed Girl, Hot Panda took to the road, and I guess you could say the road took to them! The band hasn't looked back since, ever wheeling over Canada in a questionable 1977 ambulance, taking their rambunctiously theatrical live show to "kids who like to dance" all over the nation.

  Wilfred N & the Grown Men

In 2009, Wilfred N & the Grown Men celebrate their 25th anniversary of diy
record releases with their first new album in five years, ³Stop Go Romeo².
Known for their engaging pop/rock gems, the group is headed up by Wilfred
Kozub and Jamie Philp on Wilfred¹s own Zönik Records label. After forming in
1979, they emerged from the basement studio with their 1984 debut vinyl
twelve-inch ep ³Riding Double² which spawned the still-popular (possibly in
their own minds!) ³Sad New Day² .
